    • Q: What to try if the thermostat is blank?

A: If your thermostat is blank, check the batteries. If your unit doesn’t run on battery power, there may be a tripped circuit breaker or a safety switch that has activated. If you have checked all of these potential issues and still have no luck, your thermostat may be broken. Call on our Dallas Fort Worth HVAC experts for help!

    • Q: The air is blowing hot, what should I check?

A: There are a few common causes that are easy to fix when your air conditioner is blowing hot. First, check that your thermostat isn’t set to its heat setting and that the fan is switched “on.” Then, check your outside unit. If it looks clogged with dirt, leaves, or other debris, it could be affecting the cold air that it produces. The unit may also have lost power either at the breaker or because on an emergency shutoff switch.

    • Q: What is SEER?

A: Seer stands for seasonal energy efficiency ratio. The higher the seer the higher the higher the miles per gallon and energy efficiency of your HVAC unit.

    • Q: My trim and wood flooring are cracking. Why?

A: This happens because of low humidity in the Texas heat. A whole home air humidifier can help fix this problem.

    • Q: When R22, otherwise known as Freon, goes away, will I have to replace my equipment?

A: The answer is no. You won’t have to replace your equipment, but R22 prices will steadily rise and when you do replace your equipment, it’ll have to go to an environmentally friendly disposal.

    • Q: Why is it so dry in my house in the winter?

A: The humidity in the winter is much lower. Plus, when you heat the air in your house, it reduces the humidity even more. Why is it so dry in my house in the winter?

    • Q: Are new units quieter than old units?

A: Absolutely. New units can operate as low as 59 decibels, which equates to conversational speech.

    • Q: My house has hot and cold spots. Is there anything I can do about it?

A: Of course there is! A recent study shows that 70 percent of all homes have ducting issues.

    • Q: How often should I put Freon in my unit?

A: You should never really have to put Freon in your unit; it’s a sealed system. If you’re putting Freon in your unit, it’s leaking somewhere.

    • Q: How often should I change my filter?

A: This is a question we get asked all the time. It depends on individual circumstances within a home. If you have pets, if you have an older home, allergies, or dust, then you may have to change your filter more frequently. Typically, a one-inch filter will last anywhere from 30 days to 90 days.

    • Q: How long will my unit last?

A: We typically see that these units last between 12 and 15 years when they’re properly installed and have regular maintenance.

    • Q: How much of utility bill is accounted for by my air conditioning?

A: Your air conditioning can account for up to 70 percent of your utility bill.

    • Q: What are your service areas?

A: Our HVAC experts in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex proudly serve clients throughout Dallas, Richardson, Plano, and Collin County. We offer emergency service and have same-day appointments available.

"Thank you Joe for your honesty and professionalism."
I had another company come out to check on my ac unit that was not working and the service guy said my compressor was gone and it needed to be replaced or get an entirely new system. Joe came out to quote on a new system, but did his due diligence first and discovered a simple faulty wire chewed by a rat. He didn’t take the other guys word for it or try to sell me a whole new unit right off the bat. My unit is old and will need to be replaced before too long and I’m pretty sure this is the company that has earned that business. Thank you Joe for your honesty and professionalism.
