Rescue Air Installing VRV Life System in Dallas

Serving Families Throughout Dallas
|

At Rescue Air and Plumbing, we’re proud of the charity work we perform. When we have the opportunity to give back to those who are less fortunate or support a worthy cause with our time and resources, we jump at the chance to make our community better. We recently had the opportunity to assist someone who has shared in this mission and given countless hours of her time to support causes for children.

Anne Davison is an extremely influential figure in philanthropic circles in the Dallas area, and has assisted with numerous projects for underprivileged kids in the city. She’s helped with homelessness, abuse, poverty, disease, and many other problems that plague the city’s youth, and raised millions of dollars for organizations that have sought to eliminate these issues for good. She has even donated more than $2 million of her own money toward helping her Bunny Love Foundation grow and serve even more children.

So when we were given the opportunity to help her modernize her Dallas-area home, we could think of no better opportunity. Working together with Daikin, one of the global leaders in home heating and cooling technology, we outfitted her $2.5 million home with a brand new Daikin VRV Life heating and air conditioning system, modernizing the aging equipment and making it more efficient than ever before.

The project was no small feat. At the core was an aging chiller system which made so much noise it was unbearable for the garage and guest rooms located near it. The system also had five aging Trane unitary condensing units located outside which served the entire home. After years of neglect, these systems were inefficient, noisy, and in desperate need of replacement. The indoor air handlers were similarly aged and neglected, with many showing signs of water damage beneath them.

Working together directly with Daikin, we tore out the old air conditioning system and replaced it with a new, cutting edge VRV Life heating and cooling system. VRV stands for Variable refrigerant volume, which gives these systems immense flexibility when it comes to saving energy and money on heating and cooling costs.

VRV is popular because of its ability to create heating and cooling zones throughout a home, meaning that you can independently control the temperature in different areas of your home. Rather than having to heat or cool your entire home uniformly, you can simply heat or cool the areas you’re using, which means less energy consumption and more money saved. With a home this size, zoning will save a bundle of energy and money each year.

In addition to the wide variety of new features, these systems also take up far less space than both the indoor and outdoor units in this home used to—both the indoor and outdoor units took up approximately half of the space that the previous units did, all while still being able to maintain the same quantity of air output as before. This makes them ultra-quiet, both inside and out. In fact, the outdoor units in a VRV Life system are as quiet as 57 decibels, as much as 16 decibels less than a traditional system.

We also outfitted Ms. Davidson’s home with Daikin thermostats, replacing the existing mechanical units which would lead to tremendous inefficiency with this new cutting-edge cooling system.
